CEI 827.3 CONTACT SEAMS SENSOR
| Description: |
Device for electronic seams detection. Specially suited for sensing the so called "head to head" seams. These seams, quite thin and difficult to detect with other devices, are detected in a safe and guaranteed way with the Cei 827.3 device. The sensor is assembled on a particularly wide bracket, with fabric working width of 550 mm, with a maximum thickness of 15 mm. The device is in a position to detect seams on overlapping fabrics with a maximum thickness of 15 mm. Measure is deter-mined by the passage gap. The seams thickness can actually be 17~18 mm too, but this can result in undesired breakings or tearings. It is therefore advisable to use it with 11.5 mm maximum thickness.

| Adjustments: |
Usually the device does not require any adjustment. If required it is possible to increase or decrease the sensing sensitiveness by way of the special potentiometer placed on the front of the control instrument. On the control and signal panel an ON/OFF switch is provided, with relevant led.

| Signaling: |
A 10-led bar signals the trouble entity for fabrics with possible roughness or relief. For a correct running, with the fabric moving, the maximum amount of lit leds is four. When the seam goes through all the leds on the bar turn on, in addition to the red one, signaling that the seam has been detected. The simple contact for stitch presence signal can be maintained energized (on demand). De-energizing can be done by pushing the reset button on the front side of the instrument, or by opening an external contact, duly connected to the terminal board of the instrument. Green led signaling the instrument is connected.

Installation Notes When mounting the device using the complete bracket (recommended), it is IMPORTANT TO INSTALL IT in the position shown. For the sake of convenience, the maximum mounting slope is not shown; it is recommended not to exceed 90 degrees with respect to the drawing indicated, otherwise the sensor might not work properly. For greater slopes, we can supply the same sensor with a reinforced spring. Prevent excessive pull on the contrast roller. Make an angle of at least 5 degrees, as shown above. Do not mount the sensor in any of the ways illustrated in the drawings alongside.

| Notes: |
The 24-Vac power transformer must be capable of providing 15 VA. It is possible to utilize the 24-Vac auxiliary circuit transformer, provided that the inductive loads (if any) have been taken into account in the RC filter (as required by the regulations in force). The device power supply must have a fuse or a protection switch.

Warnings:
|
By closing the DIP switch, the device can be powered with a voltage in the range from 12 to 15 Vac.
|
Do not install on machines that may generate intense vibrations; in such cases, insert a vibration-damping isolator between the bracket and the machine. The device might generate false signals if there are strong magnetic fields created by electric or electronic equipment installed too close to the sensor. Installation must be performed following the attached technical specifications. The device is capable of performing its function even if sprayed with liquids or in the presence of damp or wet fabric. In any case, it is recommended that you estimate the quantity of liquid sprayed on the sensor. If you have any problems, please contact our Technical Department for clarification and suggestions.
